Tim Duffy Optometrists’ priority is to provide professional, quality eye care. We are committed to our patients’ visual health and not just to the supply of spectacles.
All examinations include a thorough assessment of both your vision and eye health. We also offer the latest techniques to enhance our evaluation of your ocular health; we recommend high resolution retinal photography for all our patients. This allows us to detect details not visible by standard methods and as these images are stored permanently on your record we are able to accurately compare your eyes’ appearance, from one visit to the next. We strive to enhance your experience as a patient by ensuring that you are properly informed about any procedures or treatments you may encounter during your visit.
Having a passion for quality, Tim Duffy also have an extensive range of eyewear. We provide a dedicated ‘one to one’ service to ensure that you receive expert attention. While choosing your frame our qualified staff will be able to advise you according to your prescription, face shape, colouring and life style requirements all in a relaxed and unhurried manner. Tim Duffy - Optometrist BOPTOM
Tim began his own practice in 1985, when he moved to Gunnendah. Having bought new premises for his business in 2007, Tim has expanded his expertise in eye health and believes in keeping both himself and his staff up-to-date with the latest developments.
He recently completed the Occular Therapeutic Course which enables him to co-manage & prescribe drops for glaucoma & many common eye diseases and he also specialises in Children Behavioural Therapy.
Tim also has a practice over in Coonabarabran, which he opens one day a week. In his free time, Tim works on his cattle farm, and also enjoys surfing, cycling and triathalons.

Alison Stuart - Optometrist BOPTOM
Alison has come full circle, having grown up in Gunnedah, spent time in Armidale and Sydney for high school and university studies, and practising as an optometrist in various parts of Sydney and NSW before returning to her hometown as a full-time member of this practice.
She is relishing the opportunity to work with the latest equipment, as not all practices have such cutting-edge technology to assist with patient diagnosis. The arrival of the Ocular Coherence Tomographer, or OCT, has been particularly exciting for Alison.
She also has an interest in contact lenses and would like to see greater uptake by country patients of this mode of vision correction. Alison is an avid hockey player but as there is no local competition, may have to find a new sport to take up!

Shareen Streater - Practice Manager
Born & bred in Gunnedah, Shareen is the longest serving staff member having been at Tim Duffy Optometrist Vision Splendid for over 17 years. A former keen sportsperson, her interests are reading & family. A passionate & dedicated staff member, she happily declares she loves her job. The atmosphere is great, and I work with a wonderful group of staff. |

Jenny Berry - Optical Dispenser
A former nurse, Jenny combined her love of the health industry and interacting with people when she took up her position at Tim Duffy Optometrist in 2002. Jenny became a fully qualified Optical Dispenser in October 2007. "The job is great, I absolutely love meeting people of all ages and backgrounds." |

Stina Heath - Optical Dispenser
Stina has worked part-time for Tim Duffy Optometrist, Vision Splendid since 2005 and completed the Optical Dispensing Course in 2009 - with distinctions! Originally from Sweden, Stina moved to Australia in 1994 when she married local farmer Wil Heath. Between working and studying, Stina enjoys spending time with their 3 children.

Michelle - Trainee Dispenser
Michelle is the newest addition to our team and having worked outside Gunnedah for several years has returned to her hometown. She joined our team in May, 2009 and has commenced the Optical Dispensing Course. You will often find Michelle lending a hand on the weekends at her family property. |

Salome - Office Administrator
Salome is the first to greet anyone that walks through the door. Having grown up in Gunnedah, Salome is married with 2 children. She is a very active sportsperson, involved as a player, coach or supporter with swimming, netball, junior rugby league, junior rugby and tennis. |
